More than 20 years ago the public schools in the United States usurped parental authority and began to teach sex education free of moral values and even gave specific instructions on the use of contraceptives. Alleging that parents are incompetent and that children need to be informed to avoid the consequences of sexual relations (for example pregnancy, and sexually transmitted diseases), the promoters of hedonistic sex education initiated something that has nothing to do with true sex education; it is simply a "sexual conditioning," that is, a manipulation or indoctrination. The programs began to be offered in the latter years of secondary education, but were soon extended to progressively younger grades until they reached even kindergarten. They needed twelve years of systematic indoctrination to imbue the children and adolescents with a hedonistic conception of life, to convert all their attitudes and Christian values into neo-pagan ones, in short, to indoctrinate them with atheistic humanism. As Mrs. Randy Engel, expert in sex education, explains in her book Sex Education: The Final Plague, this support for sex education had its roots in the anti-life movement and malthusianism from the latter part of the nineteenth century, which was propagated in the twenties by Margaret Sanger, founder of Planned Parenthood. This organization today is very active in the schools in the United States and is the U.S. affiliate of IPPF (International Planned Parenthood Federation), which has affiliates in almost all of the countries of the world, including Colombia. We will speak more about this important theme later.
In reality the hedonistic sex education programs are utilized in many of the public schools of the world to change the values and the attitudes of the children, through what they call "value clarification". They deceptively call these programs "growth and human development", "family life", "population and development", "education in population"... all of which are very similar since they generally derive from the same sources, the IPPF (International Planned Parenthood Federation) and its affiliates, the UNESCO (through its CRESALC), and other institutions that are promoters of birth control. By means of this sexual indoctrination they teach the children and adolescents:
1. A new definition of the family and of the role of the man and the woman, according the feminist and homosexual movement.
2. A situational ethic, that is to say, moral relativism, popularly understood by the advice of "do what you want, so long as you don't hurt anybody".
3. A hedonistic conception of sexuality.
4. An anti-child mentality.
In these programs they show boys and girls, together with the sexual organs, sexual activities, whether they be normal or aberrant, including sodomy, bestiality, prostitution, masturbation, etc. In this way they awaken children's sexual impulses, destroy their modesty and innocence. To all of this they add instruction on how to use the different contraceptive methods, including abortion, presenting them as "sexually responsible", in that way desensitizing them (together with their teachers) toward the intimate nature and sacredness of sexuality. This is what has come about in the public schools of the United States for more than twenty years, the fruits of which have been a total disaster. For example, in 1970, before they started the sex education in the schools, only a third of all the adolescents that conceived were single; presently two-thirds of them are single. Accordingly, affirms Congressman William Dannemeyer in his book, "Shadow in the Land", there is a direct relationship between the quantity of money that each state spends in sex education programs in the public schools and the increase in pregnancies among teenagers. Those that spend the least money in teaching this type of sex education have the lowest pregnancy statistics.
The promoters of contraceptives for minors allege that they would reduce the number of teenage pregnancies. Nevertheless, a study of single young women, between 15 and 19 years that were having sexual relations, showed that as sexual activity increases the possibility of pregnancy increases although they consistently use contraceptives. The failure of the majority of the contraceptives (above all among the young) is the principal cause of this phenomenon, and the greater number of young people utilizing contraceptives, the greater number of failures, which leads to more abortions. The third part of all the abortions that occur annually in the United States, around a million and a half occur on young girls younger than 18 years.
The population expert, Jacqueline Kasun, author of the book "The War Against Population", studied the information supplied by their own organization Planned Parenthood and arrived at the following conclusion: "The United States, which provides access to birth control programs financed by the government, shows the tendency to the highest indices of pregnancies amongst teenagers, births and abortions". Kasun emphasized that the state of California, which provides contraceptives and abortions to minors without parental consent and spends more money than any other state in the United States on contraceptives, also has the highest statistics on abortions among white teenage girls and the second highest teenage pregnancy rate.
Supposedly, to combat the problem of teenage pregnancy, there are U.S. government clinics (including in many public schools) that provide advice about birth control and even provide free contraceptives to minors without parental consent or knowledge while utilizing public funds. Innumerable public schools in the U.S. continue implementing sex education programs that include instructions on how to use contraceptives, each time to younger children, in spite of the fact that everyone knows that it has been a total disaster.
Those who continue to promote these programs allege that by offering children and teenagers detailed instructions about the sexual act and how to avoid the consequences of sex, they will teach young people not to have sexual relations. That is to say that you can train young people in great detail in the use of all the different drugs, including the pleasant sensations that these provoke, explain to them how to avoid the negative consequences of using them, and afterward hope that they don't use them. Dr. Louise Tyrer, of the New York Planned Parenthood, admitted that more than two thirds of the abortions that occur annually in the United States are the result of failed contraceptives. And of course while they increasingly promote contraceptives and make them available to the young, there will be more promiscuity, especially if they also offer abortion without their parents finding out, in case of contraceptive failure. This is what they currently do in the United States.
Even Planned Parenthood, whose "educational" materials are in many public schools in the United States, admits in its September-October publication, "Family Planning Perspectives" that: "more young people are utilizing contraceptives and with more persistence than ever before, nevertheless the number of premarital pregnancies continue increasing."
Professor Kingsley Davis, member of the Board of Directors of the pro-contraception and pro-abortion "Zero Population Growth" declared: "The irony is that the increase in the number of illegitimate births took place precisely when the use of contraceptives was considered most respectable and generalized".
It therefore is not surprising that these hedonistic sex education programs (which include instructions on how to use contraceptives) are free of moral values, destroy the chastity and modesty of our children, and incite them to have premarital sexual relations. This is the reason why a million teenagers become pregnant and two and a half million teenagers annually contract sexually transmitted diseases (STD), which can cause sterility and even death.
The Influence of the Homosexual Movement
Worried because AIDS is spreading among teenagers and because they ignore or refuse to recognize that sex education programs have totally failed in stopping or reducing pregnancies or STDs among teenagers, many public school officials in the United States have implemented programs of sex education, supposedly to prevent AIDS, that include explicit sex "education". Presently in the United States many children by the 5th grade have been taught practically everything about sex and even are shown how to use a condom? (What type of contraception?), alleging that they have to be protected from AIDS.
Of course, this was exactly the opportunity that activist homosexual groups had waited for to promote their evil so called "gay lifestyle" among children and teenagers, through sex education programs. Out of modesty I cannot describe the "educational" materials that many American gay organizations use to purportedly prevent AIDS, which in reality are having the opposite effect because they promote homosexuality. Homosexual relations present the greatest risk for contracting AIDS.
The homosexual movement is arduously fighting to get into the public schools in the United States to promote homosexuality and so called bisexuality, making use of the hedonistic sex education programs that already exist. It is alarming to what extent the homosexuals are already involved in the United States in the planning and teaching of sex education and family life courses that are offered in the schools of this country. They even offer in the schools a national telephone number for children who have some homosexual inclination. Operators are trained to reaffirm the inclination of those who call, behind their parents' back.
Again I repeat the current statistics demonstrate a total failure in all of these programs, not only in the United States, but in the entire world, to avoid pregnancies or to reduce the number of sexually active teenagers. Premarital sexual activity has almost doubled among teenagers in the United States in the last 20 years (The Miami Herald, January 5, 1991). The United States, the country with the most contraceptives, including for minors without parental consent, presently has the highest statistics on teen pregnancies in the industrialized world (International Dateline, September, 1991)
Another industrialized country in which sex education has failed is Sweden, the birthplace of the "sexual revolution." First sex education courses were introduced in the schools (from 1938 to 1988 - 51 years of sex education). Next contraception was legalized, then homosexuality and abortion. In 1955, owing to the enormous numbers of teen pregnancies and venereal diseases, sex education became obligatory, and by 1975 the government provided, free of charge, abortions up to 18 weeks of pregnancy for whatever motive. In light of this situation, in 1985 a government report expressed the concern and the disillusionment of the Swedish government with respect to the sexual liberation of the preceding decades. Sweden has begun the march back, as the United States will have to do and other countries sooner or later. God does not want 50 years to have to pass before this occurs.
How sad that these errors have spread to less developed countries, through organizations that promote birth control. Let's look at some examples.
We cannot speak of sex education in the schools without speaking of the influence of Planned Parenthood (PP), the anti-life and anti-Christian organization that promotes contraception and abortion, including for minors without parental consent or knowledge. Many years ago Planned Parenthood succeeded in introducing its educational materials into many public schools in the United States and the entire world. Their hedonistic and materialist philosophy is the basis for the majority of the sex education courses that are offered in these schools. Additionally, these courses have been imitated by those in UNESCO, whose programs euphemistically called "population education", have the same philosophy as PP. UNESCO's program in Latin America in charge of CRESALC, that as you probably already know, have contributed extensively to the program of sex education in Colombia.
Faithful to their founder, Margaret Sanger, PP and its affiliates in all the countries continue to teach today the same hedonistic and materialistic philosophy, based on atheistic humanism and moral relativism. According to PP, there are no absolute values like the Ten Commandments. PP tells children that there is nothing morally good or bad about sexuality, rather that they simply have to explore all its aspects and make their own decisions, even if this differs from the moral principles their parents taught them. PP has defined the family as the relation that exists between people that live together, which places homosexual relations on a par with marriage. In their guide for sex education, Planned Parenthood says that values are principles and beliefs that we develop and that change with time, and that it is important for each person to decide for himself what his values are, heedless of what others say. The message that this organization transmits to students in their sex education courses is that each person has the right to have sexual relations with whomever and that the partner depends only on the personal sexual preference of the individual.
Planned Parenthood teaches minors that moral judgments and norms have little to do with sexuality. Speaking of sexuality and contraceptives without teaching them morals makes young people lose their modesty and presents abortion to them as a solution when contraception fails. PP instructors constantly frequent the public schools in the United States.
