HLI: Colombian
Families win Court battle against North American Abortion Industry Assault.
(Front Royal, Va.) The Rev. Thomas J. Euteneuer, president of Human Life International,
issued the following statement regarding the Constitutional Court of Colombia’s
ruling yesterday to uphold the Penal Code prohibiting abortion.
“The people of Colombia repelled an attack
from North American groups attempting to overthrow Colombia’s constitutional protection for unborn children and women from abortion”
stated Fr. Euteneuer. “The petitioner— radical feminist lawyer Mónica Roa, was backed
by numerous pro-abortion groups from the United States. Roa, a stalking horse for North
American groups, sought to have the court strip the protection from abortion guaranteed
by the Colombian Penal Code for women and their preborn children. Roa presented
her petition on behalf of the U.S.-based abortion group Women’s Link World
Wide. She was also supported by International Planned Parenthood Federation
(IPPF), the most pro-abortion federation of non-governmental organizations
(NGOs) in the world…” continued Fr. Euteneuer.
“The U.S. based Catholics for a
Free Choice (CFFC) also backed Roa. CFFC
has been condemned by numerous Catholic bishops and national bishops’
conferences as an anti-Catholic group which deliberately tries to deceive
Catholics about authentic Church teaching. CFFC really represents the interests
of the abortion industry and was founded to lobby Catholics to embrace the
culture of death….” continued
Rev. Euteneuer.
“Human Life International has been saying all along
that western white abortion-imperialists and extreme feminists are the ones
forcing abortion on pro-life cultures like Colombia. Now Colombia has taught the western world a lesson:
let’s hope that the defeat of Roa presages the defeat of Roe”concluded
the Rev. Thomas J. Euteneuer.
Marta Saiz de Rueda, president of HLI’s affiliate
in Colombia Fundacion Cultura de la Vida Humana, stated: “The help we received
from Vida Humana Internacional (HLI’s Hispanic Division in Miami), was crucial in saving the lives of unborn
Colombian children.” “ This victory is truly a miracle, brought about by the
intercession of our Blessed Mother and the international prayer campaign that
was launched from Colombia” – added Marta. She concluded that she’s grateful for the valuable help
given by American Life League through its legislative analyst Gualberto G.Jones,
who worked closely with VHI on providing important documentation.
