Colombia is clearly being attacked right now by the international anti-life movement. The issue before the Constitutional Court of Colombia is a challenge to the Colombian Penal Code prohibition of abortion. The petitioner, Colombian lawyer Mónica Roa, is supported by numerous pro-abortion groups from the U.S., seeks to have this court take away the absolute protection afforded by the Colombian Penal Code for preborn boys and girls. Roa presented her petition on behalf of the anti-life international U.S.-based groups Women’s Link World Wide. She is also supported by the International Planned Parenthood Federation (IPPF), the most pro-abortion federation of non-governmental organizations (NGOs) in the world. Roa has also served with the Center for Reproductive Rights (CRR) as a Legal Fellow, which is one of the most powerful and successful organizations litigating in favor of abortion in the U.S. and the world. Roa is also supported by “Catholics for a Free Choice” (CFFC), which is based in Washington, DC, but has anti-life tentacles in several Latin American coutries.

CFFC is an organization founded on three lies. The first lie is that it is a “Catholic” organization. CFFC has been condemned by numerous bishops and national bishops’ conferences as an anti-Catholic group which deliberately tries to deceive Catholics about authentic Church teaching. CFFC really represents the interests of the abortion industry and was founded to lobby Catholics to embrace the “culture” of death. The second lie is that abortion is an issue of choice. Abortion is an act of violence. The third lie is that abortion is a free choice. Abortion is forced on women by an uncaring society and selfish men. Most mothers do not freely choose abortion, but are abandoned in their time of need and are frequently forced to have abortions against their deepest wishes.

CFFC and Mónica Roa are now targeting the women and children of Colombia. The families of Colombia must work together to protect the right to life of the unborn child and the integrity of the family. CFFC, several other international pro-abortion groups and Mónica Roa are threatening the future and sovereignty of Colombia and are willing tools of anti-family forces funded by sovereign interests.
