Help for Persons with a Homosexual Orientation:
Project Courage

Cardinal Terence Cooke in New York became aware of the need for special pastoral help, so that people with a homosexual orientation, can experience the freedom to live chaste lives. Cardinal Cooke invited Father John Harvey into his diocese, because he had a lot of experience in that field of pastoral work. He, Father Benedict Groeschel and others started Courage. That apostolate received the support of the Holy See and now has over 95 chapters around the world, which help hundreds of men and women find peace through friendships, prayer and the committment to know, understand and follow the teachings of the Catholic Church.

In order to provide assistance to Hispanic bishops and others in starting a pastoral for persons who have a homosexual inclination and want to live a chaste life, VHI translated Courage educational materials, including the Courage Manual. Father John F. Harvey, founder of Courage, gave his authorization for the translation and use of this material, and his moral support for the project. The new Spanish language Courage Manual, which also includes other valuable information written and/or compiled by VHI, contains over 300 pages and has been offered free by VHI, to all Hispanic bishops throughout Latin America, the Caribbean and Spain. It was sent to all the bishops who are Presidents of the Family Life Pastoral (one in each Hispanic country).

VHI offers in its website other excellent educational materials on homosexuality and its cure in Spanish, as well as a printed brochure.

Help VHI to continue its missionary work!
